Dear Students, Parents, Teachers and Community Members,
I am excited to serve all stakeholders of Executive Preparatory Academy of Finance (EPAF)! I am committed to executing EPAF’s mission and vision of preparing financially literate students through high quality college preparatory classes.
I am a Los Angeles (L.A) native. My parents migrated to L.A from Belize in Central America. From a young age they instilled dilligence and perseverance in me. As a result of their teachings, I graduated from a Los Angeles Unified High School. After raising my SAT score 400 points, I was admitted into the University of Southern California (USC) on an appeal. Once admitted I knew I had to work extremely hard to graduate. As a result of my hard work, I received both my Bachelor’s degree in English and my Master’s degree in Education from USC. After seeing a small percentage of minorities at USC I decided to give back to my community and become a teacher and help more minority students become prepared to enter four-year universities. After teaching with LAUSD for two years and a local charter school for three years, I then received my Tier I Administrative Credential from Loyola Marymount University because I wanted to make a larger impact in my charter school-site. As evidenced by my educational background, I strongly believe in lifelong learning and its ability to shape, transform and strengthen individuals, so I almost done with Doctoral Program with Concordia University and I plan to use what I learn to make me an even stronger charter school leader.
As I begin my 11th year as an educator, I will work diligently to ensure that EPAF students receive quality instruction, financial literacy and college preparation.
- I am committed to working with parents to help their child grow intellectually and socially.
- I am committed to working with teachers to help grow their instruction practices.
- I am committed to encouraging and motivating students to taking advantage of all the opportunities that EPAF is offering them.
I look forward to continuously working with all stakeholder groups!
Mrs. Monique Woodley
